Job Title: Family Ministries Director – Lutheran Church of the Resurrection Granite Bay, CA

Job Description: The Family Ministries Director will directly oversee the children's and student ministry areas of the church. The Family Ministries Director will provide exceptional spiritual, visionary, value-driven leadership for the children, students, families, and volunteers in the children and student ministries.


Duties as Assigned:

  • Lead and teach vibrant Student Ministries weekly

  • Recruit, train and develop volunteer teams for children and youth programs

  • Mentor teens in a strong Christian lifestyle

  • Attend weekly staff meetings and teen ministry meetings

  • Oversee the confirmation class and process for students

  • Strategic and creative planning to maximize ministry impact

  • Maintain accurate records, contact information, and schedules

  • Oversee Children's Ministry and Student ministry programming for weekends and midweek, and special events

  • Administer program budget

  • Participate in other ministries, such as worship services, special events, etc., as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in relational ministry with children, teens, and their families

  • Demonstrated ability to teach teens and kids effectively

  • A recognition of gifts for and desire to work with students and children in ministry

  • An understanding of today’s culture, with the ability to function and communicate the Gospel within it

  • Strong character with good judgment; exceptional interpersonal relational skills; team player

  • Spiritual gift-mix of leadership and teaching

  • Proven desire and ability to recruit, equip, and empower adult volunteers to work with students

  • Possesses an obvious and contagious love for people, specifically kids and students and their families

  • Leads and loves in a way that is energetic, magnetic, and life-changing to students and parents

  • Has a desire to grow and assist the church in living out its mission statement

  • Maintains a close and authentic walk with Jesus by regularly spending time alone with Him, His Word, and in prayer

  • A consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

  • Maintains a Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside the church

  • Agrees with, embraces, and teaches the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection statement of faith

  • Committed to living out the mission and values of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.

Education/Experience:

  • College degree in a related field

  • Knowledge of Lutheran theology

  • Three years’ experience in leading or assisting in children, youth or family ministries

  • Pass a background check.

Preferred Experience:

  • Teaching confirmation

Compensation:

  • This is a full time exempt position

  • Full benefit package including medical, dental, and retirement
