On Saturday, November 13, 2021 the Sierra Pacific Synod Youth Committee (SPSYC) hosted a Day of Service across the Sierra Pacific Synod. 5 congregations hosted folk from around their area to participate in a service project for Lutheran World Relief. St. James Lutheran in Redding, CA; St. John's Lutheran in Sacramento, CA; Grace Lutheran in Palo Alto, CA; Good Shepherd Lutheran in Reno, NV; and Hope Lutheran in Fresno, CA all served as host sites for the projects.
Youth serving on SPSYC helped lead the service project by welcoming folk in, leading small ice breakers to get to know each other, sharing what the project is and how it will benefit individuals around the world, and walking alongside folk throughout the project. The service project welcomed people from all ages and stages and by the end of the day, nearly 500 personal care kits for Lutheran World Relief were made!
