Recap of Conference 8 & 9 Gatherings!

On November 5-6, 2022, Bishop Claire Burkat and Vice President Simon Wong joined Conference 8 and Conference 9 for their Fall Conference Gatherings!

Conference 8, the Sierra Central Valley Conference, gathered at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Modesto, CA. Rostered and Lay Leaders from across the Conference traveled in for the day, with folks from down south in Mariposa, up north in Stockton, and out East in Murphys. The Conference worshipped together, held space for a Q&A, and met in small groups with fellow Rostered or Lay leaders. Special thanks to Rev. Lyn Crase of Emanuel for hosting the Conference, and to Rev. Mark Price, Conference Dean, for organizing!

On Sunday morning, Bishop Claire and Simon worshipped with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fresno, CA - the "tent church"! They spent time with Rev. Ted Niemi and fellow lay leaders who are an integral part of the leadership team, and walked the church's beautiful grounds.

Following their time at Good Shepherd, Bishop Claire and Simon traveled down south to Visalia for the Conference 9, the Central San Joaquin Conference, Gathering! The Conference Gathering was held at Christ Lutheran Church in Visalia, CA, hosted by Conference Dean Rev. Jodi Golden-Lund and Christ Lutheran Pastor Rev. Brian Malison. Similarly, Rostered and Lay Leaders worshipped together, gathered for fellowship and a Q&A, and discerned where they are being called as a Conference.

This weekend marks the final Fall Conference Gathering - with Conference 6, the El Camino Real Conference! Join us at Advent Lutheran Church in Morgan Hill, CA from 10:00am - 2:00pm this Saturday, November 12th.
