Scheduled Hours: 20 hours a week (negotiable)
About the Position:
This position will plan, lead and provide an inspiring music ministry in support of Good Shepherd’s style of blended services combining traditional liturgy and contemporary music. This position will provide leadership and encouragement to other musicians and congregation members and visitors.
Work with the Pastor and Worship Committee in the planning of worship services, special programs and in the selection of hymns, choral and other music.
Provide organ and/or piano music at regularly scheduled worship services.
Work with Pastor and music team to record online services weekly.
Schedule and support individuals and small groups to provide special music as needed.
Provide music for weddings and funerals if desired.
May include providing music during weekly evening services during Advent and Lent.
Coordinates scheduling of substitute musicians as needed.
Supervise the use and maintenance of church-owned musical instruments.
Education and Experience
Skill and competence in playing organ and/or piano in a worship setting
Knowledge and experience in traditional and contemporary Christian liturgical services
Experience in directing adult choir members
Bachelor’s degree in music desired not required
Experience in directing bell choir (preferred)
